To represent a Dublin Core™ metadata description set in an XML document, the constructs and components of the description set must be represented as components in the XML document, i.e. as XML elements and XML attributes, XML element names and XML attribute names, and as XML element content and XML attribute values.This set of schemas supports the encoding of Qualified Dublin Core™ metadata records, including the use of element refinements and encoding schemes, following the conventions described in Guidelines for implementing Dublin Core™ in XML. The three "base" schemas declare XML elements to represent DC elements and element refinements, and define complexTypes to represent DC encoding schemes:
